European Council Gathering 2026
Every year 30-80 council carriers from Europe and the Middle East gather in a new place to connect, practice council and be together with the questions of our time and our community.
This year it is happening in Oikia Karapanou, Aegina.
The days will be a mix of council in all its forms, big circles and small circles, time for play, time with the land/water and sharing meals, morning practices and memorable evenings. In the days before and after the gathering, there will be workshops/offerings from council trainers in particular aspects of council, as well as other offerings connected to our practice, community and the place. Water is a guiding theme and being running through it all.

PLUM VILLAGE RETREAT

This year again we will have the honour and blessing to welcome a group of Monastics from Plum Village, for a four day long mindfulness retreat following the teachings of Zen master Thich Nhat Hahn.
Bowing to the buddhist tradition according to which no financial profit should be involved in the sharing of the Dharma, this retreat is offered by Oikia - our drop of contribution towards a purer world.
The retreat is open to anyone who aspires to cultivate loving awareness, regardless of religious background and beliefs.

Der Raum
Oikia (das Wort kommt aus dem Griechischen und bedeutet zugleich „Haus” und „Heim“) ist in erster Linie ein Haus mit einer Seele. Es ist in gewisser Weise die „Essenz” eines Hauses, umgeben von einem verzauberten Garten. Nichts ist hier standardisiert, nichts ist konformistisch. Es ist weder ein Hotel noch eine Seminar-Fabrik. Es ist ein echtes Haus. Einfach, geräumig, poetisch, subtil. Ein Ort, an dem uns oft von Gästen gesagt wird, dass sie den Eindruck haben endlich zuhause angekommen zu sein.
Programm
Oikia Karapanou wurde uns vererbt. Aber es waren nicht immer nur ein Haus und ein Garten. Dieser Ort war ein Gedicht, ein Abenteuer, eine Extravaganz. Eine romantische Oase, einer Zeitreise gleich. Wie ein wunderbares Geschenk vom Leben wurde es uns gegeben und deshalb haben wir uns entschieden es weiterzugeben…dem Leben.
