European Council Gathering 2026
With offerings before and after: March 30.-31. and April 5.-8

- The European Council Network is an international community of practitioners of the Way of Council, which gathers each year from many countries to practice Council, our way of deepening connection with ourselves, our loved ones, our extended community and the place we meet.
For those who don’t know it, The Way of Council is an ancient way and modern practice that elicits an experience of true community, recognizing that each voice needs to be heard, that every person has a gift, a story to share, a piece of the whole. How do we remember all our relations, embrace differences, and find our own voices, while opening to others? We feel it is more than ever an essential time to awaken this deep relational heart-mind. The days will be a mix of council in all its forms, big circles and small circles, time for play, time with the land/water and sharing meals, morning practices and memorable evenings. In the days before and after the gathering, there will be workshops/offerings from council trainers in particular aspects of council, as well as other offerings connected to our practice, community and the place. Water is a guiding theme this year and will be running through it all. Some land water retention experts will be present, sharing their knowledge with us.
There are two main parts we encourage you to join:
Firstly, between March 15-29th, there will be a community building time in which volunteers will be building some outdoor infrastructure in Oikia Karapanou as well as sharing doing council and learning about water and community action. You are invited to join these either for the whole time or volunteering when you can and joining specific sessions. There is no charge but people will be sharing the costs and preparation of food.
Secondly, is the main gathering between April 1-5th. This is built as a 5 day process around Council.
To join the gathering means:
• Either having some council training or joining the special introduction day before the gathering, from afternoon March 30th till midday March 31st.
• Participation for the full time (1-5 of April). As the whole gathering is one process, we ask for people to commit to the full time. There will however be one session focused on water open to local peoples to witness most likely Saturday afternoon.
